What is cliché?

Cliché = A figure of Speech that has lost its sparkle.

Sometime, the sentences you wrote look like to be polite; but, it is awkard, such as as per the above. These are cliché or empty words that are overused and make our writing cumbersome to read.

For example:
Before:
Please be advised that at the present time we have no available job openings. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

After:
Currently we have no job openings, but we want to thank you for your interest in our company.
